Glittered Clothespin Tutorial

Hello there! I'm Allison from Our Vintage Love, and I'm so excited that Emily invited me over to share a simple (yet fabulous) DIY project! This will be great for the upcoming new year and its festivities! You will need: Plastic or Wooden Clothespins Glue (Liquid or Stick) Glitter Paper Towel (or something to protect your surface and make it easy to pour excess glitter back into its container)
Step One - Pour a good amount of your glitter onto your paper towel.
Step Two - Place glue onto one side of your clothespin. Choose the flattest side if possible.
Step Three - If you're using liquid glue, smooth out the glue onto your clothespin making sure that all of the clothespin is covered well.
Step Four - Turn your clothespin over and place on top of your glitter. Move the clothespin around the glitter as needed, and check for areas that may need more glitter.
Step Five - Let dry completely. This is different depending on the type of glue you're using. I let mine sit all day while I was away, and they were ready to use when I got home.
Step Six - Add these beauts to make your space look fabulous, or attach a magnet to the back and use on your fridge. The possibilities are endless!
Feel free to stop by over at Our Vintage Love and see what I did with my glitter clothespins!
Thanks again to Emily for allowing me to be a guest on her wonderful blog. It has been such an honor!
Happy glittering!

Thanks Allison! I will be linking this up to a few of the blogs found here.

Here are a few pictures of the booth we set up in RECORD time. I should have checked the pictures.... some of them turned out blurry. Sorry!

Stand Up For Family

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of American Family Insurance for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Ok, so we have American Family Insurance- they are the best! Seriously, they have the best prices and amazing customer service. Anyways,  right now they have the funniest Stand Up For Family comedy videos uploaded on their website. All the clips are inspired by true life experiences, which we can all relate to.

I loved Bill Bellamy's video on Street Lights. SO true! I miss the days where kids could play all day outside, as long as they were home by the time the street lights came on. =) I also loved the clip called 'Momma Talk.' You guys HAVE got to watch these clips. Too funny.

There are so many good clips on the website, and I just LOVE how clean they are. I can watch them with my boys in the room, without having to worry about anything. Most comedy sketches these days are so dirty, it is ridiculous! Have you noticed that? Like it's a rule you have to be disgusting to be a comedian. Guess what? It's not a rule!!

AmFam knows the importance of family, and I think it is so awesome they are committed to supporting families all across the nation! Make sure you guys check out the videos if you are in need for a good laugh!

Cinnamon Apple Bites

 Guest Post

Hi everyone! I'm Sarah and normally you can find me over at Life on Walnut Street
I'm so excited be able able to be over here at The Toasted Coconut guest posting today!
I've got a delicious treat to share with you that I know you are going to love, but first a little about me!
Most of the time my blog is filled with everything from crafts, to cooking. I'm a graphic designer, so sometimes I showcase projects that I am currently working on, DIY projects and my most recent love, furniture re-hab...all kinds of stuff, really. I'm a Christian learning what it means to grow into the woman that God wants me to be. I have a great family, super friends and I love to entertain and share my the one I have for you today! You can learn more about my Life of Walnut Street HERE

Fall is in full swing here in Ohio. The air is crisp, the trees are washed in the colors of autumn and my personal favorite, our local apple orchard is open! I don't know about you but it seems that I can't get enough of apple recipes this time of year! Well, I have another one for you and the best part is that this one is really quick and easy!

Cinnamon Apple Bites
1 can of cinnamon roles (or you can use your own cinnamon roll recipe)
2 medium apples (I like the tartness of granny smith, but use what you've got!)

Slice apples into wedges. (I love my Pampered Chef Apple Wedger for this.)
Roll/flatten cinnamon roll into long oval, and cut in half length-wise.
Wrap apple wedge with cinnamon roll strip.  Place all wrapped apples on a lightly greased Baking Sheet
Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes until cinnamon roll crust is lightly browned on top.
Remove from oven and plate
Add provided icing that came with cinnamon rolls
Serve Warm!
Makes 16-20 bites

Like I said...easy right!? They are so simple, but oh-so good!
Thanks again for having me come and visit...hope that I will see you over at Walnut Street sometime soon! And now, I'll return you to your regularly scheduled programing!  Be Blessed,  Sarah

I will be linking this up to some of the blogs found HERE.

Express Business Suits Sweepstakes

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Express. All opinions are 100% mine.

Ok, so who doesn't love Express?

There is an Express sweepstakes going on right now where you can

enter everyday for a chance to win a $500 suiting makeover!!

I just love how feminine their women's suits are -

I don't feel like a weirdo wearing them. =)

The tweed and wool suits are just perfect for the fall and winter season - and definitely a trendy style.

Want to know what I like best about their suit pants? I am short... 5 feet tall (on a good day!). Suit pants

usually look ridiculous on me, but I love how Express pants look! They are such a good fit for all shapes and sizes.

They are so versatile, they can go from work to play!

No matter if you have a corporate job or are a SAHM (Stay-At-Home-Mom), like me,

I think every woman needs at least one good suit in her closet.

While I love Express pants, I am still more of a suit skirt gal!

Good thing they have lots to choose from.

Which suits do you guys like? Do you wear suits?

Do you want to? What are your favorite ones?

They also have some great men's suits!

Don't forget to enter the Express sweepstakes!!

Couch Pillows

When we moved a few months ago, we had to sell our fabulous huge chocolate brown sectional.
I can't believe we sold it.
Thankfully though, our good friends and neighbors bought a new couch around the same time.
So we bought their old one from them. It's been a hand me down a few times... but it's not that bad, right?
I just love the stripes- and I know I would never be brave enough to spend a lot of money on a striped couch. So, for $35 - it was worth the risk.
Since we were moving, I wanted to re-do my decorating scheme. It was old and not my fave.

Here is the couch in our new place, with the pillows from the old couch...

(sorry, its a night time cell pic)

Well, at the beginning of summer (before we even knew we were moving) I saw pictures of Joel Dewberry's newest fabric line. I was in Heaven. I knew they were exactly the colors I wanted for my living room.

The orange was kinda crazy for me, but I decided to do it. The problem was, I wanted the fabric immediately.
It wasn't even being sold for another few months... augh!

Well, I finally got it mid-August (I know...this post is kinda late) - and I love how my pillows turned out.

I added zippers, since my kids tend to get everything on pillows. Zippers are way easier than you think. There is a great tutorial here.

Follow me on PINTEREST!!

p.s. I got a gorgeous new piano this week - I can't wait to fix it up and show you!!

I will be linking this up to some of the blogs found HERE.
